稲本さん「私たちの牧場では牛のコンディション管理に細心の注意を払うようにしています。種付けの成功率を高めるためにテールペイントやビタミン剤の投与を行い、また、アルギスタミナを含む栄養補助食を与えて体調管理を徹底しています。」


記者「テールペイントを使用することの具体的なメリットは何ですか？」

稲本さん「テールペイントは非常に実用的な商品です。常に牛たちを見ているわけにはいかないので、テールペイントを用いることで、発情期に入った牛を簡単に識別できます。朝夕にペイントをチェックするだけで、発情のサインを見逃すことがなく、効率的な管理が可能になります。」


記者「他にはどのような工夫をしていますか？」

稲本さん「冬場は特にエネルギー管理に力を入れています。寒さによるエネルギー消費を補うため、トウモロコシを飼料に加えることで体温の維持と健康状態の向上を図っています。この小さな工夫が、牛の発情期の管理と分娩間隔の維持に大きな効果をもたらしています。」


記者「他にも牛温恵にすごく助けられているとお聞きしましたが、具体的にどのような改善が見られましたか？」

稲本さん「牛温恵の導入は革命的でした。センサーが体温の変化を捉え、出産のサインを携帯に通知してくれます。これにより、突発的な問題を事前に防ぐことができ、出産に関連するリスクを大幅に低減しました。生まれてくる子牛たちの健康状態も明らかに向上し、安心して管理ができるようになりました。」

Reporter: "Please tell us about your particular livestock farming techniques."

Inamoto: "At our farm, we pay close attention to the condition of our cows. We give them tail paint and vitamin supplements to increase the success rate of insemination, and we also give them nutritional supplements containing Algistamine to thoroughly manage their health."

Reporter: "What are the specific benefits of using tail paint?"

Inamoto: "Tail paint is a very practical product. Since you can't keep an eye on your cows all the time, using tail paint makes it easy to identify cows that are in heat. By simply checking the paint in the morning and evening, you won't miss any signs of heat, and you can manage them efficiently."

Reporter: "What other measures do you take?"

記者「畜産業におけるICTの活用も積極的に行っているということですね。」

稲本さん「畜産業界でもICTの活用はもはや不可欠です。例えば、ファームノートのようなデジタルツールを利用することで、効率的にデータ管理ができ、改善点が明確になります。データを基にして判断し、最適な管理方法を模索しています。」

Reporter: "If you had to rate the current condition of your cows, how many would you give them?"

Inamoto: "To be honest, I would rate them at 50. When you have multiple cows, not all of them are in top condition all the time. However, We always aim to improve from the basics, focusing on optimizing calving intervals and managing physical condition. ”

Reporter: “What other efforts are you making to turn that 50 points into 100 points?”

Inamoto: “For example, we use different nutritional management for each season and use tail paint to manage the rutting period. In winter, we use special mixed feed with corn and vitamins to manage physical condition. These measures change depending on the season, so we always try to manage the condition according to the situation. Also, it is important not to stick to one method, but to collect data from a long-term perspective and evaluate its effectiveness. For example, we try a certain feed additive for a year, and then we make a database of the results to verify its effectiveness, which is something we value at our ranch. "


Reporter: "So you're actively using ICT in the livestock industry."

Inamoto: "The use of ICT is now indispensable in the livestock industry. For example, by using digital tools like Farmnote, you can manage data efficiently and identify areas for improvement. We make decisions based on data and seek out optimal management methods."

稲本さん「鷹島地区で畜産を営んでいる大石さんと稲本侑紀さんを尊敬しています。彼らは私にとって師匠であり、ライバルでもあります。彼らとは親戚関係にもあるので、非常に良い刺激を受けています。」


記者「大石さんを尊敬するポイントは具体的にどのようなところですか？」

稲本さん「大石さんの経営における冒険心と、常に時代を見据えた行動が素晴らしいと思います。特に、新しい挑戦を恐れず、常に畜産業界の未来を考えた経営をされている点は、私も見習いたいところです。経産肥育を始めたのも、大石さんの影響を受けた一例です。」


記者「稲本侑紀さんの尊敬するポイントについて教えてください。」

稲本さん「稲本侑紀さんは、牛の細かなコンディションを見極める能力に長けています。どんなに小さな変化も見逃さず、私が質問するとすぐに的確なアドバイスをくれます。農協職員としての経験も豊富で、様々な事例に基づいた知識を持っているため、私にとって貴重な存在です。」


記者「畜産業界で生きていく上での心構えや哲学はありますか？」

稲本さん「畜産業界は不確実性が高く、安定した相場がないため、精神的にも肉体的にも大変な業界です。そのため、『死ぬこと以外かすりキズ』という心構えで日々を過ごしています。考えすぎず、でも適度に真剣に、そして時には軽い気持ちで業務に臨むことが大切だと学びました。この業界で生き抜くためには、自分自身に合った経営スタイルを見つけ、柔軟に対応していくことが重要です。」

Reporter: "Do you have a mentor or someone you look up to?"

Inamoto: "I respect Oishi and Inamoto Yuki, who run a livestock farm in the Takashima area. They are both my mentors and my rivals. I'm also related to them, so they inspire me a lot."


Reporter: "What specifically do you respect about Oishi?"

Inamoto: "I think Oishi's adventurous spirit in management and his actions that are always in line with the times are wonderful. In particular, I want to emulate the fact that he is not afraid of new challenges and always thinks about the future of the livestock industry. It was under Oishi's influence that I started livestock fattening. Here is one example of the training I received. ”


Reporter: “Please tell us what you respect about Inamoto Yuki.”

Inamoto: “Inamoto Yuki is skilled at assessing the condition of cows in detail. He never misses even the smallest change, and when I ask him a question, he immediately gives me accurate advice. He has a lot of experience as an agricultural cooperative employee, and his knowledge is based on various cases, so he is a valuable person to me.”


Reporter: “Do you have any mindset or philosophy for living in the livestock industry?”

Inamoto: “The livestock industry is highly uncertain, and there are no stable prices, so it is a mentally and physically tough industry. For that reason, I spend my days with the mindset that ‘anything except death is a scratch’. I learned that it is important to approach your work without overthinking it, but also to be moderately serious and sometimes light-hearted. In order to survive in this industry, it is important to find a management style that suits you and respond flexibly.”

牛温恵は、牛の体温を見るセンサーで、出産前の合図を見つけるツールです。牛の体温（普段は38℃ほど）が出産前に1℃ほど下がるので、その変化を見つけて携帯に知らせます。これで、出産の準備の時期を知り、出産のトラブルを大きく減らすことができます。

Gyuonkei is a sensor that measures the body temperature of cows and is a tool to find signs before birth. A cow's body temperature (normally around 38°C) drops by about 1°C before giving birth, and this change is detected and reported to the mobile phone. 岡本さん「私が祖父から受け継いだのは、健康な牛の様子をよく観察し、その基準から外れた牛を見つける技術。これに、獣医の専門知識を組み合わせて、病気を早期に発見し、治療期間を短縮しています。」


記者「具体的にどのような点を見ているんですか？」

岡本さん「私たちは、牛の毛並みや背中のラインに注目しています。健康な牛は、毛が逆立たず、背中のラインが綺麗です。また、耳が垂れていないかもチェックします。さらに、総合的な雰囲気や違和感を感じ取ることが重要です。細かい観察によって、健康状態を見極めるんです。」


記者「その方法で改善された点はありますか？」

岡本さん「昔に比べて、病気を早期に発見できるようになりました。それによって治療期間が短くなり、場合によっては重い治療を回避できるようになりました。この早期発見と迅速な対応は、牛の健康はもちろん、経済的な面でも大きな改善をもたらしています。」

Reporter: "Please tell us if there are any techniques or knowledge that are particularly noteworthy in Okamoto's cattle raising methods."

Okamoto: "What I inherited from my grandfather is the technique of closely observing the condition of healthy cattle and finding those that do not meet the standard. We combine this with the expertise of veterinarians to detect illnesses early and shorten the treatment period."


Reporter: "What exactly do you look at?"

Okamoto: "We pay attention to the coat and line of the cow's back. A healthy cow has hair that does not stand on end and a clean line of the back. We also check that the ears are not drooping. In addition, we look at the overall appearance and any abnormalities. It is important to sense the condition of the cow. By observing closely, you can determine its health condition."


Reporter: "Have you seen any improvements with this method?"

Okamoto: "Compared to the past, we can now detect illnesses earlier. This has shortened the treatment period, and in some cases, we can avoid heavy treatment. This early detection and rapid response has brought about great improvements not only in the health of the cows, but also in the economic aspect."

記者「岡本さんの牛に点数をつけるとしたら、どう評価しますか？」

岡本さん「現状で70点と評価したいですね。以前に比べて、私たちの管理方法も進化しましたし、牛の血統も向上していますから。」


記者「その70点の評価に至った具体的な改善点は何ですか？」

岡本さん「実は、昔に比べて競りでの成績が安定してきたんです。これまでの5、6年間で年間10頭の保留がある中で、病気の減少や畜産技術の向上が生じています。その結果、市場での評価が高まっていますね。まだまだ改善の余地はありますし、特に病気の早期発見や予防にもっと注力していく必要があります。こうした取り組みを積極的に進めていけば、より良い成績を収めることができると思っています。」


記者「青年部で試験農家としての活動もされているそうですが、その経験は岡本さんにとってどのように影響していますか？」

岡本さん「青年部での活動は新しい知見を得る絶好の機会です。最新の飼育技術や研究結果を学び、それを自分たちの牧場にも応用しています。試験農家としての経験は、新しい方法のテストと、改善への取り組みを強化する大きなモチベーションになっています。実際に試してみることで、理論だけでは得られない貴重なデータと実践的知識を蓄積しています。」


記者「オススメのアイテムや道具はありますか？」

岡本さん「私のオススメはやっぱりエプロンですね。獣医さんが使う防水のエプロンが特に便利でして、汚れ防止はもちろん、ポケットがたくさん付いているので、注射器やロープなどの小物もすぐに手に取れます。もうこれがないと仕事にならないくらい、毎日着用しています。」


記者「そのエプロン、どこで手に入れることができますか？」

岡本さん「これはワークマンで見つけたんですよ。耐久性もあり、価格も手ごろで、機能性を考えると本当にお買い得だと思います。足元までカバーするタイプではないので、そこは少し改造して使っていますが、基本的にはとても良い商品です。」

Reporter: "If you had to rate Okamoto's cows, how would you rate them?"

Okamoto: "I would rate them at 70 points at present. Previously, Our management methods have evolved and our cattle bloodlines have improved. ”

Okamoto: “Actually, our results at the auctions have become more stable compared to the past. As a result, our market reputation has improved. There is still room for improvement, and we need to focus more on early detection and prevention of diseases in particular. If we continue to actively pursue these efforts, I believe we will be able to achieve better results.”


Reporter: “I heard that you are also active as a test farmer in the youth division. How has that experience influenced you, Okamoto?”

Okamoto: “Working with the youth division is a great opportunity to gain new knowledge. We learn the latest breeding techniques and research results, and apply them to our own ranch. Our experience as a test farmer is a great motivation for us to test new methods and strengthen our efforts to improve. By actually trying things out, we are accumulating valuable data and practical knowledge that cannot be obtained through theory alone.”


Reporter: “Are there any items or tools that you would recommend? "

Okamoto: "My recommendation is an apron. The waterproof aprons used by veterinarians are particularly useful. Not only do they prevent dirt, but they also have many pockets so you can easily reach small items such as syringes and ropes. I wear them every day and I can't work without them."


Reporter: "Where can you get that apron?"

Okamoto: "I found this apron at Workman. It's durable, reasonably priced, and considering its functionality, I think it's a real bargain. It doesn't cover the feet, so I have to modify it a little, but basically it's a very good product."

岡本さん「このシステムのおかげで、私たちは常にデータに基づいて改善を図ることができます。例えば、分娩間隔が改善されたり、販売価格が平均以上に保たれたりしています。最初はランキングの下位だったのが、今では上位に食い込むことができています。」


記者「岡本さん、農場運営における座右の銘は何ですか？」

岡本さん「牛の一頭一頭の把握が私の座右の銘ですね。一頭一頭をきちんと把握することで、それぞれの牛の健康状態や生産性を最大限に引き出せます。例えば、特定の牛がどのような症状を示しているか、どの子が大きく育つかなど、具体的なデータが手元にあることで、適切な対応が可能になります。」


記者「把握からどのような具体的な行動に繋がるんですか？」

岡本さん「正確なデータがあれば、次に必要な行動が明確になります。例えば、分娩後40日以上経った牛には特定の治療を施し、再び健康状態を最適化する。また、繁殖に関する具体的なルールを設けて、計画的に管理することが可能です。これらの決め事が全ての基盤となり、牧場の効率と生産性を高めるのです。」

Reporter: "Please tell me more about the youth division environment."

Okamoto: "Through my youth division activities, I am learning in an environment where everything is exposed. I look at the rankings to find out where I stand and try to understand the areas that need improvement. In particular, detailed data such as calving intervals and cow weight management are made public, and this is directly linked to our growth."


Reporter: "What specific results are you seeing in that transparent environment?"

Okamoto: "This is Thanks to Stem, we can always make improvements based on data. For example, we have improved the calving interval and kept the selling price above average. At first, we were ranked low, but now we are able to move up the rankings. ”


Reporter: “Mr. Okamoto, what is your motto when it comes to farm management?”

Okamoto: “My motto is to understand each and every cow. By understanding each and every cow properly, we can maximize the health and productivity of each cow. For example, having specific data at hand, such as what symptoms a particular cow is showing and which calves will grow up, allows us to take appropriate action.”


Reporter: “What specific actions can be taken from understanding?”

Okamoto: “With accurate data, the next action required becomes clear. For example, cows that have been in the business for more than 40 days since calving can be given specific treatment to optimize their health again. We can also set specific rules regarding breeding and manage them in a planned manner. These rules form the basis of everything, and increase the efficiency and productivity of the farm.”

大石さん「当農場では、健康的な子牛の誕生を最優先課題と捉えております。この目標を達成するためには、親牛の健康管理が非常に重要です。親牛には出産前にワクチンを接種し、子牛が生まれた直後には鉄剤投与やビタミンを補給することで、初期の健康を確保しています。これらの対策は、子牛が健康に育つための基盤を作り、病気のリスクを減らし、結果的には経済的な損失を防ぐために不可欠です。」


記者「ワクチンやビタミンの投与は、コスト面での負担はどの程度になるのでしょうか？」

大石さん「実は、多くの方が思われるほど高額ではありません。鉄剤やビタミンの投与にかかるコストは、1頭あたり約1,500円から2,000円程度です。この初期投資が、子牛の健康を守り、将来的な大きな損害を避けるための保険となります。」


記者「初期のケアが牛の健康に与える影響についてもう少し詳しく教えてください。」

大石さん「初期のケアは、子牛の将来における健康と成長に決定的な影響を与えます。例えば、早期母子分離を行ううちの牧場では、分離時に子牛が最適な健康状態にあることが極めて重要です。貧血の有無をチェックし、必要な栄養素を補給することで、子牛は強く、健康的に成長します。これにより、ミルクの摂取がスムーズになり、病気に強い体質を育てることができます。」


記者「鷹島地区の地域間交流は、畜産業においてどのような役割を果たしていますか？」

大石さん「当地域では、農家間の協力と情報交換が非常に活発です。セリが終わった後には、農家同士が集まって成果や改善点について話し合います。このようなコミュニケーションは、みんなで成長しようという意識を高め、餌の配達や最適な飼育方法の共有につながります。共同で購入した餌を使ったり、互いに知見を共有したりすることで、全体としての生産性の向上を図っています。」

Reporter: "Please tell us about your expertise in livestock farming, Mr. Oishi, and what you particularly value."

Oishi: "At our farm, the birth of healthy calves is our top priority. To achieve this goal, it is very important to manage the health of the parent cows. We vaccinate the parent cows before giving birth, and immediately after the calves are born, we give them iron supplements and vitamin supplements to ensure their initial health. These measures are essential to lay the foundation for the healthy growth of calves, reduce the risk of disease, and ultimately prevent economic loss."

Reporter: "How much of a financial burden do you think the administration of vaccines and vitamins will be?"

Oishi: "Actually, it's not as expensive as many people think. The cost of administering iron supplements and vitamins is about 1,500 to 2,000 yen per cow. This initial investment is insurance to protect the health of the calves and prevent major damage in the future."

Reporter: "About the impact of early care on the health of cows. Could you please elaborate on that? ”

Oishi: “Early care has a decisive impact on the future health and growth of calves. For example, on our farm, where we separate calves from their mothers early, it is extremely important that the calves are in optimal health at the time of separation. By checking for anemia and providing them with the necessary nutrients, the calves grow strong and healthy. This allows them to consume milk smoothly and develop a constitution that is resistant to disease.”

Reporter: “What role does the inter-regional exchange in the Takashima area play in the livestock industry?”

Oishi: “In this area, cooperation and information exchange between farmers is very active. After the auction, farmers get together to discuss the results and areas for improvement. This type of communication increases the awareness of everyone wanting to grow together, leading to the delivery of feed and the sharing of optimal breeding methods. By using feed purchased jointly and sharing knowledge with each other, we aim to improve productivity as a whole.”

記者「牛の健康状態に点数をつけるとしたら、どの程度ですか？」

大石さん「65点ですね。生き物を扱う仕事は常に予測不可能な要素があり、24時間体制で緊張感を持って対応しなければなりません。見落としや病気の発生、そしてセリでの平均価格に達しない個体が出ることなど、これらの課題が私たちの牧場を65点に留めています。」


記者「点数を上げるためにどのような改善策を考えていますか？」

大石さん「まずは人員の確保です。現在のスタッフ数では全ての牛に行き届かない場面があります。もっと多くの目で牛を観察し、異常に素早く対応できれば、牛の健康状態を改善し、市場での価値を高めることができるでしょう。」


記者「おすすめのアイテムや設備はありますか？」

大石さん「去年完成した堆肥センターです。6,000万円の投資でしたが、この堆肥センターのおかげで、私たちは牛の堆肥から高品質な有機肥料を生産することが可能になりました。発酵から完熟化まできちんと管理された環境で、臭いもほとんどなく、土のような質感の肥料を製造しています。これを地元の農家に提供し、販売も行っており、結果として地域社会への貢献としても機能しています。また、肥料の袋詰め作業を就労継続支援B型のような障害を持たれている方々に手伝っていただくことで、仕事の機会を提供し、それによって少しでも社会貢献ができればと思っています。このように、私たちの事業は地元の方々と協力しながら進めております。」

Reporter: "If you were to rate the health of your cows, how would you rate it?"

Oishi: "65 points. Working with animals is always unpredictable, and you have to be on edge 24 hours a day. Oversights, disease outbreaks, and animals not reaching the average price at auction - these are the issues that keep our farm at 65 points."

Reporter: "What improvements are you considering to improve your score?"

Oishi: "First of all, we need more staff. With the current number of staff, there are times when we cannot reach all of our cows. If we could have more eyes watching the cows and respond quickly to any abnormalities, we could improve the health of the cows and increase their value in the market."

Reporter: "What items do you recommend, and Do you have any facilities?"

Oishi: "This is a compost center that was completed last year. It was an investment of 60 million yen, but thanks to this compost center, we are able to produce high-quality organic fertilizer from cow compost. The fertilizer is produced in a properly managed environment from fermentation to full maturation, and has almost no odor and a soil-like texture. We provide this to local farmers and also sell it, which ultimately contributes to the local community. We also hope to provide work opportunities to people with disabilities, such as those receiving Type B employment support, by helping with the bagging of fertilizer, and thereby contribute to society in some way. In this way, we are working with local people in our business."

記者「師匠や目標としている方はいますか？」

大石さん「私の師匠は、佐賀県肥前町の井上匡実さんです。一見すると厳しそうに見えますが、非常に優しく、親身になって相談に乗ってくれます。彼は自分のことよりも周りや地域のために尽力しており、その姿勢が深く尊敬している理由です。」

大石さん「井上さんはJAの繁殖部会の部会長を務めたり、若手を支援したりすることで地域活性化に貢献しています。特に若手農家との交流や勉強会を積極的に行い、経験や知識の共有を促しています。これらの活動が地域の農業や畜産業を盛り上げ、若い世代に希望を与えています。」


記者「座右の銘について教えてください。」

大石さん「私の座右の銘は「ピンチはチャンス！」です。特に近年、牛の市場価格が不安定で、多くの農家が苦労しています。しかし、このような時こそ新しいチャレンジをする勇気が必要だと考えています。たとえば、市場価格が低い時には、質の高い牛を育て上げて将来の価格回復に備えるなど、ピンチをチャンスに変えることができます。」


記者「今後の畜産業界での展望や計画についてはどのように考えていますか？」

Reporter: "Do you have a mentor or someone you look up to?"

Oishi: "My mentor is Masami Inoue from Hizen Town, Saga Prefecture. At first glance, he may seem strict, but he is very kind and willing to give you advice. He puts more effort into the people around him and the community than into himself, and that is why I respect him so much."

Reporter: "Please tell us about Inoue's contributions to revitalizing the community."

Oishi: "Inoue contributes to revitalizing the community by serving as the chairman of the JA breeding committee and supporting young farmers. These activities are helping to boost the local agriculture and livestock industry and giving hope to the younger generation."

Oishi: "My motto is, 'A crisis is an opportunity!' In recent years, the market price of cattle has been unstable, and many farmers have struggled. However, I believe that it is precisely at times like these that we need the courage to take on new challenges. For example, when market prices are low, you can turn a crisis into an opportunity by raising high-quality cattle and preparing for a future price recovery.

Reporter: "What are your thoughts on the outlook and plans for the livestock industry in the future?"

Oishi: "The livestock industry may face even tougher conditions in the future, but we want to respond by switching to integrated management and improving our own skills. By responding flexibly to market fluctuations and diversifying and streamlining our management, we aim to create a sustainable livestock industry in the future."

こちらの堆肥センターは去年完成したもので、6,000万円の建設費がかかっているそうです。
そのおかげで牛の堆肥から高品質な有機肥料を生産することができるようになったと話していました。
臭いもほとんどなく、土のような質感の肥料を製造・販売しています。
また、肥料の袋詰め作業は障害を持たれている方々に手伝っていただくことで、仕事の機会を提供し社会貢献していきたいと話していました。

記者「最新技術の導入によって、具体的な成果や改善点はありましたか？」

稲本さん「実際、ICT技術の活用、特にファームノートの導入により、牛の管理が飛躍的に向上しました。日々のデータをもとに発情の早期発見や、種付けの最適なタイミングの判断が容易になり、管理漏れが大幅に減少。かつては手書きのメモに頼っていたのが信じられないほどです。結果として、分娩間隔が11.5ヶ月という理想に近いサイクルを達成しています。」

Reporter: "Could you tell us about the family's techniques that you are particular about when raising cattle, and any information or expertise you have recently acquired?"

Inamoto: "We are working hard to raise higher quality cattle by incorporating the latest knowledge into the cattle-raising techniques that have been passed down for generations. In particular, we are particular about raising healthy and strong cattle by separating mothers and calves at an extremely early stage and weaning them at 60 days, and then switching to a diet mainly made up of grass. In addition, in close cooperation with veterinarians, we protect the health of our cattle by administering vaccines such as Bobivac, TSV3, and Baycox, as well as antibiotics such as Draxin and the deworming drug Ivermectin when necessary. ”

Reporter: “Have you seen any concrete results or improvements as a result of introducing the latest technology?”

Inamoto: “Indeed, the use of ICT technology, especially the introduction of Farmnote, has dramatically improved our cattle management. It has become easier to detect estrus early and determine the optimal timing for insemination based on daily data, and management oversights have been greatly reduced. 記者「稲本さんのおすすめの道具やアイテムがあれば教えてください。」

稲本さん「私は削蹄師なので、削蹄に関するものなのですが、軽トラックに直接取り付けしている削蹄保定枠がオススメアイテムです。これは、削蹄の際に牛舎によっては牛を繋ぐ場所がない牛舎もあります。そういう場所であっても牛を繋いで削蹄できるようにするためのもので、持ち運びが容易で、場所を選ばずに仕事ができる点が大きなメリットです。この保定枠のおかげで、効率的に牛の策定作業ができるようになりました。」

稲本さん「誠さんは、本当に優しくて、前向きな人でした。決して嫌なことを言うことがなく、必要なアドバイスは的確に、しかし優しく教えてくれるような人でした。私だけでなく、多くの人が彼に頼り、尊敬していました。彼の死は、私たちコミュニティにとって大きな損失でしたが、彼のようにみんなに頼られる存在になれればと思っています。」


記者「最後に、稲本さんがこれからも忘れずにいたい、座右の銘や心に留めておくべき言葉があれば教えてください。」

稲本さん「私の座右の銘は、「まだまだこれから」です。どんなに困難な状況でも、まだまだ改善できる点はあるし、挑戦すべきことはたくさんあります。私たちの牧場では、現在、繁殖をメインにしていますが、これからは生産活動の範囲を広げ肥育への展開、受精卵移植技術の取得などにも挑戦していきたいと考えています。実際に今現在、経産肥育にはチャレンジし始めています。この座右の銘を胸に、牧場の規模拡大や収益性向上を目指して、日々の業務に取り組んでいきます。経済的な負担や技術的な困難はありますが、「まだまだこれから」の精神で乗り越えていきたいと思います。」

Reporter: "Finally, please tell us if there is a motto or words that Inamoto would like to remember from now on."

Inamoto: "My motto is, 'There is still a long way to go.' No matter how difficult the situation, there are still many things that can be improved and many challenges to be taken on. Currently, our farm is mainly breeding, but from now on we would like to expand the scope of our production activities and expand into fattening, acquire fertilized egg transplantation techniques, and so on. In fact, we are currently starting to challenge ourselves with pasture fattening. With this motto in mind, we will work on our daily tasks with the aim of expanding the scale of the farm and improving profitability. 削蹄する際に農家によっては牛を繋ぐ場所がない牛舎があり作業が難航する場合があるそうですが、稲本さんの使っている軽トラックに直接取り付けしている削蹄保定枠では、場所を選ばずに仕事ができるそうで大変重宝していると話していました。持ち運びも容易で作業効率が格段に上がったそうです。

祥子さん「実は、以前JAに勤めていた時、削蹄の仕事を初めて目の当たりにしました。そこでプロフェッショナルな方々と働く機会があり、その刺激的な経験から自分も挑戦してみたいと強く感じるようになりました。女性としての壁や限界を言われることもありましたが、できないならできるようになろうと決意。夫の支持も得て、資格取得のために勉強を始めました。」


記者「祥子さんの旦那様である侑紀さんも削蹄師として活動されていると聞きましたが、その影響は大きかったですか？」

祥子さん「はい、夫はもう10年以上削蹄師として活動していて、彼の働く姿から多大な影響を受けました。肉体労働の厳しさや、それに立ち向かう精神力を間近で見て、私もやれるかもしれないと思い始めたんです。夫の支えがあったからこそ、挑戦する勇気が持てました。」


記者「女性としての挑戦にはどのような困難がありましたか？」

祥子さん「確かに物理的な強さや、社会的な偏見といった障壁は存在します。しかし、私は幼少期から負けず嫌いで、できないと言われると余計にやりたくなる性格なんです。だから、できないことがあれば、できるようになるまで挑戦する。知らなければ勉強する。その精神で今まで乗り越えてきました。」


記者「削蹄師としての今後の目標は何ですか？」

祥子さん「まだ修行中の身で、完璧ではないですが、できるところまでチャレンジしてみたいと思っています。削蹄師としての技術を磨きながら、女性でもこの道で成功できることを証明したい。そして、いつかは安全で効率的な削蹄ができるような環境を自分たちで整えられたらと考えています。」

Reporter: "What made you want to become a hoof trimmer?"

Shoko: "Actually, when I was working at JA, I first saw hoof trimming work. There, I had the opportunity to work with professionals, and that exciting experience made me feel strongly that I wanted to try it myself. I was told that there were barriers and limitations as a woman, but I decided that if I couldn't do it, I would become one. With my husband's support, I started studying to get the qualifications."

Reporter: "I heard that your husband, Yuki, is also a hoof trimmer. Did he have a big influence on you?"

Shoko: "Yes, my husband has been working as a hoof trimmer for over 10 years, and I was greatly influenced by watching him work. Seeing up close the harshness of physical labor and the mental strength it takes to face it, I began to think that maybe I could do it too. My husband I had the courage to take on the challenge because of the support of my parents."

Reporter: "What difficulties did you face in taking on the challenge as a woman?"

Shoko: "It's true that there are barriers such as physical strength and social prejudice. However, I've been competitive since I was a child, and when I'm told I can't do something, I want to do it even more. So if there's something I can't do, I'll try until I can. If I don't know, I'll study. With that spirit, I've overcome so far."

Reporter: "What are your future goals as a hoof trimmer?"

Shoko: "I'm still in training, and I'm not perfect, but I want to challenge myself as much as I can. I want to prove that women can succeed in this field while honing my skills as a hoof trimmer. And I hope that one day we can create an environment where hoof trimming can be done safely and efficiently."

祥子さん「私の地域では削蹄師会に15名ほどが在籍していますが、全国的に見てもプロとして活動する削蹄師は決して多くはありません。農家自身で削蹄される場合も多いですが、削蹄には専門的な知識と技術が求められるため、プロに依頼する価値は非常に大きいのです。」


記者「プロに依頼するのはどのような時ですか？」

祥子さん「牛の爪は一頭一頭異なり、正確な判断が求められます。素人でも削蹄することは可能ですが、その後どのように爪が伸びていくのか？、どのような負荷がかかっていくのか？まで予測することはできません。ですがプロが削蹄すると、経験豊富な削蹄師ならではの判断で、牛が心地よく感じる最適な爪の状態を実現できるのです。短期的には費用がかかるかもしれませんが、長期的に見れば牛に足周りからのストレスを与えず健康を保ち、生産性を高めることができるため、欠かせない投資だと考えています。」

記者「座右の銘はありますか？」

祥子さん「私の座右の銘は、「笑っているやつが一番強い！」です。仕事でも日常生活でも、どんなに厳しい状況にあっても、笑顔を忘れずに前向きに取り組むことで、意外にも困難を乗り越えられると信じています。現在、経済的な厳しさもありますが、夫と二人で新たな挑戦を探しながら、笑顔を絶やさずに乗り越えていきたいと思っています。」

Iwane: "As a future challenge, we want to try to handle everything from processing to sales ourselves. Currently, we sell meat through social media, but it's still a small-scale initiative.
