記者「澤田さんが古河畜産での研修で得た畜産テクニックについて教えてください。」

澤田さん「古河畜産での研修期間は約2年間にわたりました。この間、様々な畜産テクニックを習得しました。特に、牛の体調や状況に応じて柔軟に対応することの重要性を学びました。例えば、天候の変化や牛の健康状態を見極め、その都度、最適な飼育方法を適用することが重要だと実感しています。この経験を通じて、私は牛たち一頭一頭に対する深い理解と愛情を持つようになり、それが今の私の飼育技術の土台となっています。」


記者「臨機応変に対応した経験とは例えばどのようなことがありますか？」

澤田さん「特に印象深いのは、子牛の病気に対処した経験です。ある時、いつもと違う様子の子牛がおり、普段からの観察があってこそ異変に気付けました。獣医と相談の結果、実際には初めに思っていた病気とは異なる病気であることが判明しました。」


記者「具体的にはどういう病気だったのですか？」

澤田さん「子牛が経験した病気には、下痢や紐の怪我などがありました。また、見た目では分かりにくい内部の状態、例えば臍帯炎という病気にも対処しました。臍帯炎では、特定の部位に液体が溜まる状態になっており、エコー検査などで発見します。これらの経験から、目に見えない病気や異常にも迅速に気付き、対応できる能力が養われたと感じています。」


記者「それ以外にも普段気づかないようなことに気づけた経験はありますか？」

澤田さん「一例として、分娩間近の親牛が尻尾を立てて餌を食べる、という特殊な行動をしたことがあります。初めは何気ない変化に思えましたが、これが分娩に関連する重要なサインであることに気付きました。実際に調べてみると、お腹の中で子牛が死んでいる状態でした。」

Reporter: "Please tell us about the livestock techniques you learned during your training at Furukawa Livestock."

Sawada: "I trained at Furukawa Livestock for about two years. During that time, I learned a variety of livestock techniques. In particular, I learned the importance of responding flexibly to the physical condition and circumstances of the cows. For example, I realized that it is important to assess changes in the weather and the health of the cows, and apply the most appropriate breeding method each time. Through this experience, I gained a deep understanding and affection for each individual cow, which is the foundation of my current breeding techniques."

Reporter: "What is an example of an experience of responding flexibly? What are some examples of this?"

Sawada: "The most memorable experience was dealing with a calf illness. One time, a calf looked different than usual, and I was only able to notice the abnormality through regular observation. After consulting with a veterinarian, we discovered that the illness was actually different from what we initially thought."

Reporter: "What kind of illness did it have specifically?"

Sawada: "Some of the illnesses the calves had included diarrhea and injuries to their strings. We also dealt with internal conditions that are difficult to detect from the outside, such as omphalitis. With omphalitis, fluid accumulates in certain areas, and These are then detected by ultrasound scans, etc. I feel that these experiences have given me the ability to quickly notice and respond to invisible illnesses and abnormalities."

Reporter: "Have you ever noticed something else that you normally wouldn't notice?"

Sawada: "For example, I once saw a cow that was close to giving birth, and she started eating with her tail upright. At first, it seemed like just a casual change, but I realized that this was an important sign related to the birth. When I actually investigated, I found out that the calf had died inside her stomach."

記者「役立つアイテムなどあれば教えてください。」

澤田さん「夏場の暑さ対策で、簡易ミストを導入しています。これは簡易型で、タイマー設定により一定間隔で動作します。価格も手頃で、熱中症対策に非常に効果的です。去年の夏、新しく建てた子牛舎に設置し、その効果を実感しました。」


記者「添加剤についてはどうですか？」

澤田さん「私は、あまり変わったものは使っておらず、一般的な添加剤を使用しています。特にネッカリッチという製品を愛用しており、ミルク上がりの改善に役立っています。ネッカリッチを使うことで、離乳後の子牛の健康状態が格段に向上しています。」

This thorough management system is the secret to his success, and I have emulated this and incorporated it into my own breeding methods. "

Reporter: "If you had to rate your cows, how many would you give them?"

Sawada: "My cows are still not perfect, I'd say about 70 points. Looking at the breeding results, I've been able to maintain one birth per year, but there is still room for improvement. My farm is also new, and it's been three years since I started, but I'm still making improvements every day."

Reporter: "Please tell us if there are any useful items."

Sawada: "To combat the summer heat, we have introduced a simple mist. It's a simple type that operates at regular intervals by setting a timer. It's affordable and is very effective at preventing heatstroke. It is always effective. I installed it in the newly built calf barn last summer and saw the effects first-hand."

澤田さん「具体的な計算方法としては、子牛一頭あたりにかかる費用、餌の量、様々な経費を日単位で把握することが大切です。これにより、現実的な経営計画が立てられ、早期に問題点を発見し対処できます。また、単に数字上の計画だけでなく、実際に赤字にならないよう具体的な対策を考えることも必要です。」


記者「新規就農者に向けて、他に重要なポイントはありますか？」

澤田さん「はい、一人で全てを成し遂げようとせず、支援者や協力者を持つことの重要性を強調したいです。私自身、家族や地域の先輩農家など、多くの人々の支援を受けています。畜産業は特に、協力者がいなければ成功が難しいと感じています。」


記者「最後に、澤田さんの座右の銘を教えてください。」

澤田さん「私の座右の銘は、「牛に恩返し、牛で恩返し」です。これは、日々の丁寧な管理と愛情をもって育てた牛を通じて、私を支えてくれたすべての人々への恩返しを意味します。牛を立派に育て、それを通じて地域や関係者に貢献することが、私の目指す経営の形です。」

Sawada: "I also started out as a new farmer, and setting clear goals is always a good idea. I try to do this. It is very important to make detailed plans for each day, week, and month, and perform realistic cost calculations. By calculating expenses in detail and in reality, and practicing according to the plan, you can minimize the risk of going into the red. ”

Reporter: “Can you tell me specifically how you do this calculation?”

Sawada: “Specifically, it is important to understand the cost per calf, the amount of feed, and various expenses on a daily basis. This allows you to make a realistic management plan and discover and deal with problems early. In addition, it is necessary to think of specific measures to avoid actually going into the red, not just a numerical plan.”

Reporter: “Are there any other important points for new farmers?”

Sawada: “Yes, I would like to emphasize the importance of having supporters and collaborators, rather than trying to achieve everything alone. I myself am supported by many people, including my family and senior farmers in the area. I feel that it is especially difficult to succeed in the livestock industry without collaborators.”

Reporter: “Finally, please tell us your motto.”

Sawada: “My motto is, ‘Give back to the cows, and give back with the cows.’ This means giving back to all the people who have supported me through the cows I raise with care and love. Raising cows well and contributing to the local community and other people involved is the way I manage my business."

井上さん「実際には日々の努力の積み重ねですね。特に、生後4、5ヶ月までの丁寧な育て方が大きな違いを生んでいます。病気の予防と健康管理にも細心の注意を払い、エサの質にもこだわっています。全体として、一頭一頭の牛に寄り添ったケアを心がけていることが、質の高さと安定性を保つ秘訣だと思います。」

記者「井上さんが牛の育て方に自己評価をつけるとしたら、100点満点中何点ですか？」

井上さん「うーん、自分では満点を出すことは難しいですね。常に改善の余地を見つけ、より良い方法を模索しています。しかし、現在の取り組みには自信を持っており、70点程度はつけられるかなと。」


記者「具体的にどのような課題に直面しているのですか？」

井上さん「最大の課題は、やはり個体差による成長のばらつきですね。それに伴う病気のリスク管理も大きな課題の一つです。また、良質な飼料を確保し、それを各牛の体調や成長段階に合わせて適切に供給することも、日々の大切な仕事の一つです。これらの課題に対処するために、飼料の配合を最適化し、健康管理に更に力を入れています。」


記者「今後の計画や目標はありますか？」

井上さん「今後は、牛の健康管理と粗飼料のさらなる質の向上に注力していく予定です。特に、母牛の栄養管理を改善することで、生まれてくる子牛の健康状態をより良くすることが目標です。」

Inoue: "Actually, it's the accumulation of daily efforts. In particular, careful care of the cows until they are 4 or 5 months old makes a big difference. We pay close attention to disease prevention and health management, and are particular about the quality of the feed. Overall, I think the key to maintaining high quality and stability is the careful care we give to each individual cow."

Reporter: "If Mr. Inoue were to evaluate his own way of raising cows, "What would you give yourself out of 100?"

Inoue: "Well, it's difficult for me to give myself a perfect score. I'm always looking for ways to improve and looking for better ways. But I'm confident in my current approach, and I'd give myself about 70 points."

Reporter: "What specific challenges are you facing?"

Inoue: "The biggest challenge is the variation in growth due to individual differences. Managing the risk of disease that comes with that is also a big challenge. Also, securing high-quality feed and providing it appropriately according to the physical condition and growth stage of each cow is an important part of my daily work. 1. To address these issues, we have optimized the feed mix and are putting even more effort into health management. ”

Reporter: “Do you have any future plans or goals?”

Inoue: “In the future, we plan to focus on managing the health of our cows and further improving the quality of our roughage. In particular, our goal is to improve the health of our newborn calves by improving the nutritional management of our mother cows.”

井上さん「はい、大塚さんから学んだ飼料計算の知識を活用し、さらに効率的かつ効果的な飼料管理を実践していきたいです。子牛の成長をより良くサポートできるよう、ニュートリトップやくみあい飼料育成用を含めた新しい飼料の試みを積極的に取り入れていく予定です。それにより、健康で強い牛を育て上げることができればと考えています。」

井上さん「覚悟とは、どんな困難があっても乗り越えていく決意のことです。そして、計画や悩みに時間を費やすよりも、行動を起こすことを優先する姿勢が重要です。思い立ったら即行動、それが成功への近道です。」


記者「最後に、井上さんの座右の銘を教えてください。」

井上さん「私の座右の銘は『覚悟』です。覚悟があれば何でも乗り越えられる、何でも達成できると信じています。この言葉を胸に、日々の業務に取り組んでいます。」
