賢い資金戦略

記者「甲斐さんが耕畜連携を取り組み始めたきっかけは何でしたか？」

甲斐さん「耕畜連携は、農作業の効率化を目指して始めました。最初はただ単に作業を楽にしようと思ったんですが、田んぼの作業は思った以上に厳しく、経費もかかって大変でした。しかし、この連携により、畜産農家としての経済的な安定性も見込めるようになり、一歩ずつ前進しています。」


記者「連携の中で特に工夫された点はありますか？」

甲斐さん「はい、工夫した点はいくつかあります。特に、機械の導入は大きな変化でした。しかし、機械も故障することがあり、その対応には頭を悩ませました。そのため、息子と相談し、購入時には保険のような形で定期預金を活用して、何かあった時に備えるようにしました。」


記者「定期預金についてもう少し詳しく教えてください。」

甲斐さん「定期預金は、いうなれば保険のようなものです。不測の事態に備え、大きな支出が必要な時はこれを活用します。例えば、1,000万円を定期にしておけば、必要な時にはその資金を使って対応できるわけです。これにより、経済的な安定性を確保し、家族全員で経済的なリスクを管理しています。」


記者「この取り組みから、今後の展望や意気込みを教えてください。」

甲斐さん「厳しい状況は続いていますが、この取り組みにより少しずつでも前に進んでいます。経済的な余裕を持ちながら、資材費や燃料費の高騰にも対応していかなければなりません。定期預金をうまく活用して、農業経営の安定性を高め、家族みんなで支え合いながら、持続可能な農業を目指しています。」

Reporter: "What prompted you to start working on the livestock farming collaboration?"

Kai: "We started the livestock farming collaboration with the aim of making farming more efficient. At first, we just wanted to make the work easier, but working in the rice fields was harder than we thought, and it was very expensive and difficult. However, this collaboration has given us the prospect of economic stability as a livestock farmer, and we are making progress one step at a time."

Reporter: "Were there any particular innovations you made in the collaboration?"

Kai: "Yes, there were a few that we made. In particular, the introduction of machinery was a big change. However, machinery can also break down, and I was worried about how to deal with this. So I talked it over with my son and decided to use a fixed term deposit as a kind of insurance when I purchased the property, to prepare for any eventuality.

Reporter: "Could you please explain more about fixed term deposits?"

Kai: "Fixed term deposits are like insurance, so to speak. They are used to prepare for unforeseen circumstances and when large expenditures are required. For example, if you put 10 million yen into a fixed term deposit, you can use that money when necessary. This ensures financial stability and allows the whole family to manage financial risk."

Reporter: "What are your future prospects based on this initiative?" Please tell us your thoughts and aspirations. "

Kai: "The situation remains tough, but this initiative is helping us move forward little by little. We have to be financially comfortable while also dealing with rising material and fuel costs. We are making good use of fixed-term deposits to increase the stability of our farm management, and we are aiming for sustainable farming while supporting each other as a family."

毎日が点数アップへの努力

記者「甲斐さん、自分の牛の育て方に点数をつけるなら、いくつになりますか？」

甲斐さん「点数は、正直に言って60点ぐらいかなと思います。毎日の努力はしているんですが、牛の健康管理や環境の整備にはまだまだ改善の余地があります。特に、牛たちが元気に成長してくれるよう、常に気を使っています。それでも、予期せぬ問題は起きますからね。」


記者「60点ということですが、そこから100点に近づくために、どのようなことに取り組みたいと考えていますか？」

甲斐さん「やはり、牛たちの健康管理が最優先ですね。早期発見、早期治療を徹底し、牛たちが常に最適な状態でいられるようにしたいですね。この近辺で事故が少ない農家たちが早期発見するために工夫していることとして餌を敷物にして寝床に敷いてあげるという方法をしています。のこくずを敷くよりも下痢の状態を見やすくなり下痢の発見がしやすくなるんです。」


記者「具体的に、牛の飼育で現在直面している問題はありますか？」

甲斐さん「直近で毎月30頭の子牛が生まれており手が回らなくなっています。加えて、繁忙期には身体的な負担も大きい。それに、牛たちの健康管理を徹底することで、死亡率を下げる努力も怠ってはならないと感じています。」


記者「今後の方針について教えてください。」

甲斐さん「今後は、牛の飼育方法を見直し、もっと効率的で持続可能な方法を取り入れたいです。例えば、受精卵移植に取り組んでいます。これにより、より健康な子牛を育て、全体的な飼育環境の改善を図っています。また、保険への加入や労働環境の改善も重視していきます。結局、牛たちの健康が最優先ですから、そのために必要な投資は惜しまないつもりです。」

Reporter: "Kai, if you were to rate the way you raise your cattle, how would you rate it?"

Kai: "Honestly, I'd give it about 60 points. I make an effort every day, but I don't think I'd give it much, especially when it comes to managing the cattle's health and the environment. There is still room for improvement in maintenance. In particular, we are always careful to make sure the cows grow up healthy. Even so, unexpected problems do occur.

Reporter: "You said it's 60 points, but what do you want to do to get closer to 100 points?"

Kai: "After all, the top priority is managing the health of the cows. We want to be thorough about early detection and early treatment so that the cows are always in the best condition. Farmers in this area who have had few accidents use a method of making feed into a mat and laying it on the sleeping area. This makes it easier to see the diarrhea than if you laid sawdust, making it easier to detect diarrhea. ”

Reporter: “Are there any specific problems you are currently facing with raising cattle?”

Kai: “Recently, 30 calves have been born every month, and I can’t keep up with them. In addition, the busy season is physically demanding. I also feel that we must not neglect our efforts to reduce the mortality rate by thoroughly managing the health of the cows.”

Reporter: “What are your future plans?”

Kai: “In the future, I would like to review the way we raise cattle and adopt more efficient and sustainable methods. For example, we are working on embryo transfer. This will help us raise healthier calves and improve the overall breeding environment. We will also place importance on insurance and improving the working environment. In the end, the health of the cows is our top priority, so we will spare no effort in making the necessary investments for that.”

一筋にまっすぐ

記者「甲斐さんの畜産における師匠や尊敬する人物について教えてください。」

甲斐さん「師匠ですか。私の場合は、特定の一人の師匠というより、多くの人から学んできました。農業は日々学びですからね。ただ、特に影響を受けたのは、高森町の宇藤さんですね。彼は牛温計などがない時代から、この仕事に情熱を注いでいました。キャンピングカーで牛舎のそばに寝泊まりして分娩を待つなど、その献身的な姿勢には本当に敬服します。」


記者「宇藤さんのような献身的な姿勢は、甲斐さんにどのような影響を与えていますか？」

甲斐さん「彼のように、全力を尽くして取り組む姿勢に私も大変刺激を受けております。牛の飼育はただの仕事ではなく、情熱を持って取り組む生き方。それが私たちのモットーです。それに、彼は”取る銭捨てずの精神”も強くしっかり収益を上げていく姿はさすがだなと思っています」


記者「甲斐さんにとって、畜産とは何でしょうか？また、座右の銘があれば教えてください。」

甲斐さん「酪農は、ただの職業ではなく、一つの生き方ですね。全てをこの仕事に注ぎ、正直に、一筋に、まっすぐに進んでいく。それが私の信念です。ですから、座右の銘は「一筋」です。これからも、この心持ちを忘れずに、日々の仕事に取り組んでいきたいと思います。」

Reporter: “Tell us about your mentor or someone you respect in livestock farming.”

Kai: “A mentor? In my case, rather than one specific mentor, I have learned from many people. Agriculture is something you learn every day. But the person who has had the greatest influence on me is Mr. Uto from Takamori Town. He has been passionate about this work since the days when there were no cow thermometers. I really admire his dedication, such as sleeping in a camper van next to the cowshed and waiting for the calf to give birth. ”

Reporter: “How has Mr. Uto’s dedication influenced you, Mr. Kai?”

Kai: “I am also very inspired by his dedication to his work. Raising cows is not just a job, it’s a way of life that you work on with passion. That’s our motto. He also has a strong “money for everything” mentality, and I think it’s impressive how he makes a solid profit.”

Reporter: “What does livestock farming mean to you, Mr. Kai? Also, please tell us if you have a motto.”

Kai: “Dairy farming is not just a job, it’s a way of life. I put everything into this work, and I move forward honestly, single-mindedly, and in a straight line. That’s my belief. So my motto is “single-mindedness.” I will continue to keep this mindset in mind as I go about my daily work."
