自分のやりたいようにやる畜産の道

記者「林田農場さんの畜産において独自の方法や特徴について教えていただけますか？」

林田さん「実は、私たちは特に大きなこだわりを持っているわけではありません。「自分のやりたいようにやること」を大切にし、過度な制約を設けずに、牛たちが快適に過ごせる環境を提供しています。何か特定の方法にこだわるよりも、柔軟な対応を心がけています。この場合はこうした方がいい、ああした方がいいという方もいらっしゃいますが、私個人としては農業ってそういうものではないのではないかという考えを持っているんです。赤牛の肥育ではA5の肉を作るためにはと考えるのではなく、ただただ肉質よく美味しいと言ってもらえるような肉を作るという気持ちでやっているだけですかね。」

記者「最近、畜産業界で新しいトレンドや耳寄りな情報があるかと思いますが、林田農場で導入した新しい取り組みはありますか？」

林田さん「アソードを導入したことですかね。エサに撹拌機で混ぜて牛に与えています。牛が強くなっている印象があります。ミネラル補給として使っていますね。季節要因などもあるので一概には言えないのですが病気が減ってきているような気がしたので今後も使っていこうと思っている商品です。」

記者「畜産業界では季節の変化によって様々な問題が生じますが、林田農場ではそれにどのように対応していますか？」

林田さん「季節の変化に対しては、牛たちが快適に過ごせるように寒暖差を感じさせないように環境を整えています。例えば、冬にはヒーターを使って温度を調節することもあります。ただし、今年は比較的暖かかったので、その必要はあまりありませんでした。寒暖差への対応は難しいですが、常に牛たちの健康を最優先に考えています。」

Reporter: "Could you tell us about the unique methods and characteristics of Hayashida Farm's livestock farming?"

Hayashida: "Actually, we don't have any particular preferences. We value "doing things the way we want to do them" and provide a comfortable environment for the cows without excessive restrictions. Rather than sticking to a specific method, we try to be flexible. Some people say that it's better to do it this way or that way in this case, but I personally don't think that's what agriculture is about. When it comes to fattening red cattle, we don't think about how to produce A5 grade meat, we just try to produce meat that people will say is high quality and delicious. ”

Reporter: “Recently, there have been new trends and interesting information in the livestock industry. Have you introduced any new initiatives at Hayashida Farm?”

Hayashida: “I guess it was the introduction of Asode. We mix it with the feed using a mixer and feed it to the cows. I feel like the cows are getting stronger. We use it as a mineral supplement. It's hard to say for sure because it's seasonal, but I feel like there are fewer illnesses, so I'm going to continue using this product.”

Reporter: “In the livestock industry, various problems arise due to seasonal changes, but how do you deal with them at Hayashida Farm?”

Hayashida: “In response to seasonal changes, we create an environment where the cows don't feel the temperature difference so that they can be comfortable. For example, we sometimes use heaters to adjust the temperature in winter. However, this year was relatively warm, so there wasn't much need to do that. It's difficult to deal with temperature differences, but we always put the health of the cows first.”

自由を牧するしばられない心

記者「林田さんにとっての座右の銘や、特に好きな言葉について教えていただけますか？」

林田さん「私の座右の銘は「しばられない」ということですね。自分のやりたいことを追求し、自由に生きることに大きな価値を見出しています。人生を楽しみ、幸せを感じることができるよう、柔軟に物事に対応しています。」

記者「新規参入者に向けてアドバイスがあればお聞かせください。」

林田さん「新規で畜産業界に参入する方々には、他人の意見に振り回されず、自分の直感と経験を信じることが大切だと思います。人の話を聞くのも重要ですが、実際に手を動かし、自分で考え行動することが何よりも重要です。自分を信じ、自分の決断に基づいて行動することが大事です。」

Reporter: “What is your motto, Hayashida? Or a phrase you particularly like?”

Hayashida: “My motto is, ‘Don't be tied down.' I place great value in pursuing my passion and living freely. I am flexible in my approach to things so that I can enjoy life and feel happy. "

Reporter: "Do you have any advice for newcomers?"

Hayashida: "For those who are new to the livestock industry, I think it's important to trust your own intuition and experience and not be swayed by the opinions of others. It's important to listen to what others say, but it's more important than anything else to actually get your hands dirty and think and act for yourself. It's important to believe in yourself and act based on your own decisions."

女性の手で育む、畜産の未来

記者「未可子さん、ご主人の畜産業をどのようにサポートされていますか？」

未可子さん「私は主に牛舎の管理を担当しています。トラクター運転はできないので、畑仕事が忙しい時は牛舎の仕事が私の役割です。餌やりや病気の牛のケア、獣医さんとの対応などを行っています。実際、この仕事は肉体労働が多く大変ですが、慣れると楽しさも感じます。毎日牛の表情を見るのはとても楽しいですね。」


記者「女性として、畜産業に関わる中で特に感じることはありますか？」

未可子さん「最初は体力的にもきつかったですが、慣れました。女性としての視点で見ると、牛は私にとても懐きやすいですね。私が牛舎に来てから、牛たちがより大人しくなったと夫も言っています。私は毎日牛たちに声をかけ、触れ合うようにしています。これが牛たちにとっても良い影響を与えているのかもしれません。」


記者「新規で畜産業に参入する女性に対してアドバイスはありますか？」

未可子さん「新規で畜産業に参入する女性には、パートナーと一緒に始めることをお勧めします。特に女性が1人で新規就農するのは珍しいですし、周りにいないのが現状です。1人で始めるよりも、基盤があるところで始めた方が良いでしょう。特に今は、畜産業が厳しい時代ですから、しっかりと情報を集めて、可能なら放牧などを活用しながら始めることが大切じゃないでしょうか。また、精神力も必要です。男性でも新規就農は大変ですが、女性の場合は特に体力や機械操作などの面での配慮が必要です。他人のサポートや協力がなければ難しいと思います。」

Reporter: "Mikako, how do you support your husband's livestock business?"

Mikako: "I'm mainly in charge of managing the cowshed. I can't drive a tractor, so when the field work is busy, it's my role to work in the cowshed. I feed the cows, take care of sick cows, and deal with veterinarians. In fact, this job is very physical and difficult, but once you get used to it, it's fun. It's really fun to see the expressions on the cows' faces every day."

Reporter: "As a woman, is there anything you feel in particular about being involved in the livestock industry?"

Mikako: "It was physically tough at first, but I got used to it. From a woman's perspective, the cows are like me. They are very easy to get attached to. My husband also says that the cows have become more docile since I came to the cowshed. I talk to the cows every day and try to interact with them. This may have a positive effect on the cows.

Reporter: "Do you have any advice for women who are starting out in the livestock industry?"

Mikako: "I recommend that women who are starting out in the livestock industry start with a partner. It is rare for a woman to start farming alone, and there are not many around. It is better to start in a place with a foundation than to start alone. Especially now, the livestock industry is in a tough time, so it is important to gather information properly and, if possible, start using grazing. You also need mental strength. It is difficult for men to start farming, but for women, it is especially important to be considerate in terms of physical strength and machine operation. I think it will be difficult without the support and cooperation of others."
