観察が命

記者「岩﨑さんの一家相伝の技術や、技術的な部分でこだわっているポイントについて教えてください。」

岩﨑さん「私たちのこだわりは観察にあります。毎日、牛の様子を細かく観察することで、健康状態を把握しています。これにより、病気の早期発見や対策を取ることが可能になります。特に、牛の動きや餌の摂取状況、ふだんと違う行動が見られた場合には、すぐに異常を疑います。観察は一見地味ですが、非常に重要な作業です。」


記者「観察の具体的なポイントについて、もう少し詳しく教えてください。」

岩﨑さん「例えば、牛が餌を食べに来ない場合や、食欲が明らかに低下している場合、それは何かしらの問題が起きているサインです。過去に熱が原因で餌を食べなくなった牛がいたので、まずは体温を測ります。異常があればすぐに獣医を呼び、治療を始めます。観察を通じて、日々の健康管理がどれだけ大切かを実感しています。」


記者「具体的なエピソードとして、過去にどのような異常を発見し、どのように対処したか教えてください。」

岩﨑さん「小さな牛が耳を下げているのを見たことがあります。それは中耳炎の予兆でした。普段からの観察で異常に気づけたので、早期に治療を開始し、重症化を防げました。また、下痢が見られた場合にはすぐに消毒を行い、専用の薬を使って対処します。こうした早期発見と対応が、牛の健康維持に大いに役立っています。」

記者「下痢に対する対策について、もう少し詳しく教えてください。具体的にはどのような薬を使っていますか？」

岩﨑さん「うちでは、消毒に加えてミヤリサン（宮入菌末、ゲンノショウコ末、トウモロコシデンプン、人工カルルス塩、乳糖水和物を含む）やトルラミン（トルラ酵母、コハク酸、テトラーゼTを含む）といった薬を使っています。ミヤリサンは下痢止めとして使用している整腸剤します。トルラミンは消化機能を助ける消化機能促進剤です。実際に効果があることは日々の飼育で実感しています。」

Reporter: "Please tell us about the techniques that have been passed down through the family, and the points that you are particular about in terms of the technical aspects."

Iwasaki: "We are particular about observation. We closely observe the cows every day to understand their health. This allows us to detect illness early and take measures. In particular, if we notice any unusual behavior in the cows' movements, feed intake, or other behavior, we immediately suspect something is wrong. Observation may seem mundane at first glance, but it is a very important task."


Reporter: "Could you tell us more about the specific points of observation?"

Iwasaki: "For example, when the cows are eating, If they don't come to eat or their appetite is clearly reduced, it's a sign that something is wrong. In the past, we've had cows stop eating because of a fever, so we take their temperature first. If there's anything abnormal, we call a vet right away and start treatment. Through observation, we've realized how important daily health care is."


Reporter: "Could you tell us a specific example of an abnormality you've discovered in the past and how you dealt with it?"

Iwasaki: "I once saw a small cow with its ears drooping. That was a sign of otitis media. I was able to notice the abnormality through regular observation, so I was able to treat it early. We started this program and were able to prevent the disease from worsening. If diarrhea is observed, we disinfect the animals immediately and use special medicine to treat the illness. This early detection and treatment is very helpful in maintaining the health of the cows.

Reporter: "Could you tell me more about the measures you take against diarrhea? What specific medicines do you use?"

Iwasaki: "In addition to disinfection, we use medicines such as Miyarisan (containing Miyairi bacteria powder, Gennoshoko powder, corn starch, artificial carruth salt, and lactose hydrate) and Torulamine (containing Torula yeast, succinic acid, and tetrase T). Miyarisan is used as an antidiarrheal agent. I use a laxative. Toluramine is a digestive stimulant that aids digestion. I can feel its effectiveness in my daily work. "

健康管理のプロフェッショナル

記者「岩﨑さんが自分の牛に点数をつけるなら何点ですか？」

岩﨑さん「75点ですね。健康状態が良いことが大きな理由です。牛たちはしっかり寝ていて、ストレスなく過ごしています。また、餌もよく食べているので、総じて健康だと感じています。健康管理に気を使い、適切な環境を提供することで、この点数を保っています。」

記者「牛たちの健康を保つために具体的にどのような工夫をされていますか？」

岩﨑さん「牛の相性を見て部屋を分けることにこだわっています。群れに入れたときに強弱ができるので、弱い牛同士を一緒にして、強い牛からのストレスを避けるようにしています。これにより、餌の取り合いや怪我のリスクを減らし、牛たちが安心して過ごせる環境を作っています。」


記者「75点を100点にするために改善したい点は何ですか？」

岩﨑さん「種付けの成功率を上げることです。受胎率を改善するために、発情の観察をもっと徹底し、必要に応じてホルモン注射などの対策を講じています。観察力を高めることが、種付けの成功率を上げる鍵だと考えています。」


記者「オススメのアイテムや道具があれば教えてください。」

岩﨑さん「監視カメラですね。導入前は夜中に何度も見回りをしていたのですが、カメラを設置してからはその必要がなくなりました。これにより従業員の負担が減り、効率よく牛の監視ができるようになりました。」

Reporter: "If you were to rate your cows, how many points would you give them?"

Iwasaki: "75 points. The main reason is that they are in good health. The cows sleep well and are stress-free. They also eat well, so I think they are generally healthy. I pay attention to their health and provide them with a suitable environment, which helps me maintain this score."


Reporter: "What specific measures do you take to keep your cows healthy? "

Iwasaki: "We are particular about dividing the rooms according to the compatibility of the cows. When they are put into a group, there will be differences in strength, so we put weaker cows together to avoid stress from stronger cows. This reduces the risk of fighting over food and injury, and creates an environment where the cows can feel safe."


Reporter: "What would you like to improve to improve from 75 points to 100 points?"

Iwasaki: "To increase the success rate of insemination. To improve the conception rate, we are more thorough in observing estrus and taking measures such as hormone injections when necessary. Improving our observation skills is I think that's the key to increasing the success rate of breeding."

Reporter: "Please tell us if there are any items or tools that you recommend."

Iwasaki: "Surveillance cameras. Before we installed them, we had to patrol the area many times in the middle of the night, but since we installed the cameras, that's no longer necessary. This has reduced the burden on employees and allowed us to monitor the cows more efficiently."

岩﨑さん「近所のETファームの田代さんです。田代さんは、情報量が多く、勉強熱心な先輩であり、血統の組み合わせや繁殖方法について具体的なアドバイスをいただいています。」


記者「具体的にはどのようなアドバイスをいただいているのですか？」

岩﨑さん「直近では、血統の組み合わせについて教えてもらいました。適切な掛け合わせをすることで、健康で優秀な牛を育てることができるんです。田代さんは次に流行りそうな血統やトレンドにも詳しく、そういった知識をシェアしてくれます。田代さんはとても気さくで話しやすい方で、この地域でもよく知られており、皆から信頼されています。彼と話していると、いつも新しい発見があり、勉強になります。」

記者「座右の銘は何ですか？」

岩﨑さん「『一期一会』ですね。人との繋がりを大切にすることで、多くの学びやチャンスが生まれます。これまでの経験でも、紹介された方との出会いが新しい道を開いてくれることが多かったです。例えば、繁殖農家さんから良い種牛を紹介してもらったことがあります。その結果、非常に優秀な牛が育ちました。また、畜産農家同士で情報交換することで、病気対策や飼育法について新しいアイデアを得ることができました。」

Reporter: "Please tell us about your role model or someone you respect."

Iwasaki: "It's Tashiro-san from ET Farm, which is nearby. Tashiro-san is a senior who is very knowledgeable and eager to learn, and he gives me specific advice on bloodline combinations and breeding methods. ”


Reporter: “What kind of advice do you get specifically?”

Iwasaki: “Most recently, he taught me about bloodline combinations. By crossing them appropriately, you can raise healthy and excellent cows. Tashiro-san is also knowledgeable about bloodlines and trends that are likely to be popular in the future, and he shares that knowledge with me. Tashiro-san is very friendly and easy to talk to, and is well known in the area and trusted by everyone. When I talk to him, I always discover something new and learn something.”

Reporter: “What is your motto?”

Iwasaki: “It's ``once in a lifetime.'' By valuing connections with people, you can learn a lot and have many opportunities. In my experience, the people I was introduced to often opened up new paths. For example, a breeding farmer introduced me to a good breeding bull. As a result, I was able to raise very excellent cows. Also, by exchanging information with other livestock farmers, I was able to get new ideas about disease prevention and breeding methods. "

監視カメラ

監視カメラ導入前は、夜中の見回りが頻繁で従業員が疲弊していました。カメラ導入後は、遠隔で状況を確認できるようになり、見回りの負担が大幅に軽減されました。その結果、無駄な見回りが減少し、従業員の負担が軽減され、業務の効率が向上しました。さらに、異常が発生した際も迅速に対応できるようになり、安全性が向上しました。

Before the introduction of surveillance cameras, employees were exhausted from frequent patrols in the middle of the night. After the cameras were introduced, the situation could be checked remotely, and the burden of patrols was greatly reduced. As a result, unnecessary patrols were reduced, the burden on employees was lightened, and work efficiency improved. Furthermore, we were able to respond quickly when an abnormality occurred, improving safety.
