カビ毒問題への挑戦

記者「以前、カビ毒による問題に直面していたとお聞きしましたが、その時の具体的な状況やエピソードを教えていただけますか？」

木村さん「実際にカビ毒の問題に直面した時は、牛たちが軟便や食滞に悩まされていました。この問題に対処するために、アソードを導入しました。当初はカビ毒サプリを毎日50グラム程度使用していましたが、現在は10グラムに減らし、それでも効果的です。この変更により、毎月の使用量も減り、コストも毎月15万ほど抑えられるようになりました。」


記者「アソードの導入が牛たちの健康にどのような影響を与えましたか？」

木村さん「アソードを使い始めてから、軟便や食滞の問題が大幅に減少しました。すぐに効果が出たわけではありませんが、長い目で見ると、牛たちの健康が大きく改善されていることに気づきます。病気が減り、獣医を呼ぶ必要が少なくなったのは大きなメリットです。」


記者「導入するきっかけは何だったのですか？」

木村さん「導入のきっかけは、牛が砂利などを舐める行動が多く見られたことでした。鉱塩やミネラルの増量も効果がありませんでした。近隣の農家さんがアソードを使っていると聞き、導入を決めました。長い目で見て効果が出ることを理解していたので、根気よく続けることができました。」


記者「農業経営や牛の飼育にどのような変化がありましたか？」

木村さん「コマーシャルではないんですが、アソードをやるようになってから牛の異常や変化が少なくなってきてるのは間違いはないと思います。また、これによりコスト削減が実現しました。牛の健康状態が安定すると、牧草以外の飼料を減らすことが可能になり、経営の効率化に貢献しています。観察力を高めることが重要で、異常を早期に発見することで対処できるようになりました。」

Reporter: "I heard that you had problems with mold toxins in the past. Can you tell us about the specific situation or episode from that time?"

Kimura: "When we did have problems with mold toxins, the cows were suffering from loose stools and indigestion. To deal with this problem, we introduced Asode. Initially, we were using about 50 grams of mold toxin supplements every day, but we have now reduced it to 10 grams, which is still effective. This change has reduced the monthly usage and has reduced costs by about 150,000 yen per month."


Reporter: "How has the introduction of Asode affected the health of the cows? Has it had any impact?"

Kimura: "Since we started using Asode, the problems of loose stools and indigestion have decreased significantly. It wasn't an immediate effect, but in the long run, we have noticed a big improvement in the health of our cows. The reduction in illnesses and the need to call the vet less are major benefits."


Reporter: "What prompted you to start using it?"

Kimura: "The reason we started using it was because we noticed that our cows were licking gravel and other things a lot. Increasing the amount of mineral salts and minerals didn't help either. We heard that a neighboring farmer was using Asode, so we decided to start using it. I understood that it would have an effect in the long run, so I was able to continue patiently. ”


Reporter: “What changes have there been in your farm management and cattle breeding?”

Kimura: “This is not a commercial, but I think there is no doubt that since we started using Asode, there have been fewer abnormalities and changes in the cattle. This has also led to cost reductions. When the health of the cattle stabilizes, it becomes possible to reduce feed other than grass, which contributes to the efficiency of management. It is important to improve your observation skills, and you can now deal with abnormalities by detecting them early.”

自己評価は低く見積もれ

記者「木村さんは今の自分に足りない部分があると感じているそうですが、具体的にはどのような点ですか？」

木村さん「そうですね、私は常に自分に何が足りないかを考えています。特に、コロナ禍を経験してから、人との接触の大切さがより鮮明になりました。コロナの隔離状況は、私たちに多くのことを見直す機会を与えたんです。人間関係の重要性を再認識し、これからの農業経営にも大きな影響を与えています。」


記者「コロナ禍を経験して、農業経営における人との繋がりについてどのように考えが変わりましたか？」

木村さん「コロナ禍を通して、人との繋がりが情報の源泉であることを強く実感しました。インターネット情報だけでは不十分で、直接の人間関係から得られる情報の価値は計り知れないです。特に、農業の世界では、他の農家との情報交換が非常に重要で、互いに学び合うことで、全体の知識や技術が向上します。」


記者「農業経営において、自分の現在の取り組みに何点をつけるとしたら、どう評価しますか？」

木村さん「もし自分の牛舎の運営に点数をつけるなら、40点くらいかもしれません。理想にはまだまだ遠いです。自己評価を低く見積もることで飼料や牛の管理について、常に改善の余地を探し続ける意識が生まれます。」


記者「その残りの60点分、つまり改善の余地について具体的に教えていただけますか？」

木村さん「現在は特に自家飼料の質を上げることに力を入れており、最適な飼料を作るために試行錯誤しています。より良い飼料を作ることで、牛の健康と生産性を高めたいと考えています。近隣の農家さんで和泉さんという方は、牧草の質やデントコーンの栄養価を最大化する方法を模索しており、私もそのような高い目標を掲げています。しかし、気候の変動や収穫時期の管理など、難しい課題も多くあります。」

Reporter: “You say that you feel that there are areas that you are lacking right now, but what are they specifically?”

Kimura: “Yes, I am always thinking about what I am lacking. In particular, since experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of contact with people has become even clearer. The COVID-19 quarantine situation has given us the opportunity to reevaluate many things. We have re-recognized the importance of human relationships, and this is having a major impact on future agricultural management.”


Reporter: “How has your thinking about human connections in agricultural management changed since experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic? "

Kimura: "Through the COVID-19 pandemic, I have come to strongly realize that human connections are a source of information. Information from the internet alone is not enough, and the value of information obtained from direct human relationships is immeasurable. In particular, in the world of agriculture, exchanging information with other farmers is extremely important, and by learning from each other, overall knowledge and skills improve."


Reporter: "If you were to rate your current efforts in agricultural management, how would you rate them?"

Kimura: "If I were to rate the management of my own cowshed, I would give it about 40 points. It's still far from ideal. By underestimating myself, I will be conscious of always looking for room for improvement in feed and cow management."


Reporter: "Can you tell me specifically about the remaining 60 points, that is, room for improvement?"

Kimura: "Right now, I am particularly focusing on improving the quality of our own feed, and I am trying and testing to create the optimal feed. By creating better feed, I want to improve the health and productivity of my cows. A neighboring farmer named Izumi is looking for ways to maximize the quality of pasture and the nutritional value of dent corn, and I have similar high goals. However, There are many difficult issues, such as climate change and managing harvest times."

現実と向き合う農家の教訓

記者「木村さんにとって、農業や酪農に関する知識や技術を学んだ師匠はどなたですか？」

木村さん「私の師匠は一人ではありません。那須拓陽高校の斎藤達夫先生は、私の恩師の一人で、担任ではなかったものの、農業に対する考え方や生き方を学びました。また、酪農ヘルパーとして始めた際の先輩も師匠のような存在でした。彼らは私に厳しくも貴重な教えを授けてくれ、今の私の基礎を作り上げました。」


記者「斎藤達夫先生や酪農ヘルパーの先輩から、具体的にどのようなことを学びましたか？」

木村さん「斎藤達夫先生は、ただの教師ではなく、農業における真の理解者でした。彼からは、牛の飼育管理はもちろん、仕事の進め方や重要性について学びました。ヘルパーの先輩からは、農家がいない時に代わりに働くことで、実際の仕事の厳しさや農業の現実を学びました。彼らから学んだ知識と経験が今の私を形成しています。」


記者「新規就農者に向けて、農業における重要なメッセージは何ですか？」

木村さん「新規就農者へのメッセージは、夢を追う前に現実をしっかり見ることです。農業の世界は理想だけでは生きていけません。私たち長年の農家は、農業の厳しい現実を知っています。新しい農家は、夢を持つ前に、現実の農業の状況を理解し、それに基づいて計画を立てるべきです。これが農業で成功するための鍵です。」

Reporter: "Who was your mentor from whom you learned your knowledge and skills about agriculture and dairy farming?"

Kimura: "I don't have just one mentor. Mr. Tatsuo Saito from Nasu Takuyo High School was one of my mentors. Although he wasn't my homeroom teacher, I learned about agriculture and how to live from him. Also, my seniors when I started working as a dairy helper were like mentors to me. They taught me strict but valuable lessons, and built the foundation for who I am today."


Reporter: "I learned a lot from Mr. Tatsuo Saito and my seniors as dairy helpers. What did you learn physically?"

Kimura: "Tatsuo Saito was not just a teacher, but a true understanding person in agriculture. From him, I learned not only how to raise and manage cattle, but also how to proceed with work and its importance. From the senior helpers, I learned the harshness of the actual work and the reality of agriculture by working in place of the farmers when they were away. The knowledge and experience I learned from them have shaped who I am today."

Reporter: "What is an important message about agriculture for new farmers?"

Kimura: "My message to new farmers is to look at reality clearly before chasing your dreams. You cannot survive in the agricultural world on ideals alone. We long-time farmers know the harsh reality of agriculture. New farmers should understand the real agricultural situation before they have dreams, and make plans based on that. This is the key to success in agriculture."
