記者「宇藤さんが牧場運営について特に力を入れていることを教えていただけますか？」

宇藤さん「はい、私たちは特に飼料供給の最適化に力を入れています。例えば、穀物の年間消費量に基づいた飼料計算を行い、飼料の最適化を図っています。また、消化率を高めるために、繊維質を豊富に含んだカシューセルミールを導入して、健康的な牛の育成に努めていますね。」

宇藤さん「うちの牛たちは全体として見て50点ですね。まだまだ改善の余地がありますが、一定の質は保っています。」

宇藤さん「50点の大きな理由は、個々の牛に対するケアの必要性です。特に障害がある牛が年間で約1割おり、これが総合評価を下げています。ただ、育成や種付けは順調に進んでいるため、基本的な管理はうまくいっていると言えます。」


記者「障害を持つ牛が増える原因は何だと考えていますか？」

宇藤さん「障害の増加は、集団での飼育が一因かと考えています。それによるストレスや、遺伝的な問題も無視できません。これには、もっと個別に対応する育成方法の見直しが必要です。」


記者「では、そのような課題を解決するために具体的にどのような改善策を考えていますか？」

宇藤さん「改善策としては、牛一頭一頭に合わせたケアを徹底し、可能な限り個別での注意深い管理を行うことです。また、監視カメラの導入で夜間の分娩など、見逃しがちな問題にも迅速に対応できるようになりました。これにより、手遅れになるケースを減らし、全体の健康を向上させたいと考えています。」

Reporter: "If you had to rate the condition of your cows, how many would you give them?"

Mr. ​Uto: "Overall, I'd give my cows a score of 50. There's still room for improvement, but they're maintaining a certain level of quality."


Reporter: "What specifically is the reason for the 50 points?"

Mr. Uto: "The main reason for the 50 points is the need for care for each individual cow. About 10% of the cows have disabilities each year, which lowers the overall rating. However, breeding and breeding are progressing smoothly, so I'd say the basic management is going well."


Reporter: "What do you think is the reason for the increase in disabled cows?"

Mr. Uto "We think that one of the reasons for the increase in disabilities is group rearing. The resulting stress and genetic problems cannot be ignored. This requires a review of rearing methods to address issues more individually."

Mr. Uto: "As an improvement measure, we will provide thorough care tailored to each individual cow, and manage them as carefully as possible individually. Also, by introducing surveillance cameras, we can now quickly respond to issues that are easy to overlook, such as births at night. We hope that this will reduce the number of cases where it is too late and improve the overall health of the cows."

牧場運営の成功への鍵

記者「新規就農者の方々へのアドバイスとして、過去の失敗から得た教訓を教えていただけますか？」

宇藤さん「私の失敗の一つに、発情の兆候を見逃すことがありました。これは非常に重要で、見逃すと繁殖サイクル全体が乱れてしまいます。普段から牛の様子にしっかり目を配り、繁殖のタイミングを逃さないようにすることが肝心ですね。発情の見逃しは、結果として乳量の低下や牛の健康問題を引き起こしました。さらに、繁殖サイクルが遅れると、結果的には牛の入れ替えや高額な費用が必要になるなど、経営にも大きな負担がかかります。」


記者「では、これから牧場を始める新規就農者への具体的なアドバイスは何ですか？」

宇藤さん「新規就農者の方は特に、繁殖サイクルの管理に細心の注意を払うことが重要です。万が一のためにも、発情の兆候を正確に捉えるためのツールやシステムの導入をお勧めします。これが牧場の安定した運営に直結します。」


記者「宇藤さんの経験から、牧場経営の成功の鍵は何だと思いますか？」

宇藤さん「成功の鍵は、日々の努力と細かな観察です。毎日の管理と観察を怠らず、牛一頭一頭の健康や状態を正確に把握することが、高い生産性と効率的な牧場運営につながります。」

Reporter: "What advice would you give to new farmers, and what lessons have you learned from your past failures?"

Mr. ​Uto: "One of my mistakes was missing signs of estrus. This is very important, and if you miss it, the entire breeding cycle will be disrupted. It's important to keep a close eye on your cows at all times and not miss the timing of breeding. Missing estrus resulted in a decrease in milk production and health problems for the cows. Furthermore, if the breeding cycle is delayed, it will ultimately result in the need to replace cows and expensive expenses, which will put a heavy burden on management."

Reporter: "So, what about this? What specific advice would you give to new farmers who are starting a farm? ”

Mr. Uto: “It is especially important for new farmers to pay close attention to managing the breeding cycle. Just in case, I recommend introducing tools and systems to accurately capture signs of estrus. This will directly lead to stable farm management.”

Reporter: “Based on your experience, what do you think is the key to successful farm management?”
