牛たちの健康を第一に

記者「田中さんの牧場で自分の牛の状態に点数をつけるなら、何点ですか？」

田中さん「私たちの牧場での牛たちの状態は、全体的に70点くらいかなと思います。なぜ70点かというと、一番の自慢は、牛たちが比較的清潔に保たれている点です。常に清潔さを保つことで、牛たちの健康を守り、病気のリスクを減らし、牛たちの快適さの確保に努めています。」


記者「プラス30点を得るためにはどのような工夫や改善が考えられていますか？」

田中さん「私たちは、受胎率の向上に注力しています。具体的には、発情周期が不明瞭な牛が少なくなるように管理を徹底しています。空胎日数を短縮し、分娩間隔を最適化することで、生産性を向上させ、牧場全体のパフォーマンスを高めることを目指しているんです。このような綿密な管理により、結果的に牛乳の生産量を増やし、牧場の収益性を高めることを目指しているんです。」

Reporter: "If you were to rate the condition of your cows on your farm, how many would you give them?"

Tanaka: "I'd give the cows on our farm about 70 points overall. Why 70 points? What I'm most proud of is that we keep the cows relatively clean. By always keeping them clean, we protect the health of the cows, reduce the risk of disease, and strive to ensure their comfort."


Reporter: "What kind of ideas and improvements are you considering to get an extra 30 points?"

Tanaka: "We're focusing on improving our conception rate. Specifically, we're managing the cows so that there are fewer cows with unclear estrus cycles. We are thorough. By shortening the number of days without pregnancy and optimizing the calving interval, we aim to improve productivity and enhance the performance of the entire farm. Through this kind of detailed management, we aim to increase milk production and increase the profitability of the farm. ”

リラックスと栄養の融合

記者「他の牧場とは異なる、特別な育て方をしている点があれば教えてください。」

田中さん「独自の取り組みとして、私たちは牛たちに音楽を聴かせています。音楽をBGMのように流すことで、牛たちがリラックスできるように心がけています。牛は非常に敏感な生き物で、周囲の環境変化に対してすぐに反応します。たとえば、雷が鳴ったり、工事の音がしたりすると、牛たちはすぐにそれを察知し、ストレスを感じやすいんです。だからこそ、穏やかな音楽を流すことで、そのような外部からのストレスを軽減しようとしています。」


記者「牛が感じるストレスにどのように対処していますか？」

田中さん「牛たちが感じるストレスを最小限に抑えるために、日常的に彼らがリラックスできる環境を作ることが重要です。音楽はその一環として非常に効果的で、特に近くで雷が鳴ったり、大きな音がしたりするときに、牛たちが落ち着いて過ごせるようにしています。また、音楽を流すことで、牛たちの心地よい状態を保つことにもつながります。私たちは、牛たちが快適に過ごせる環境を提供することで、ストレスによる影響を最小限に抑えることを目指しています。」


記者「快適さを保つために、具体的にどのような対策を講じていますか？」

田中さん「快適さを確保するために、私たちは牛舎の風通しの良さや、牛床の乾燥を重視しています。風通しを良くすることで、夏場の暑さ対策として効果的であり、牛床を乾燥させることで、牛たちがベタベタすることなく清潔な環境で休めるようにしています。これらの対策は、牛たちがストレスを感じることなく、健康的に過ごせるようにするためのものです。快適な環境を提供することは、牛たちの健康だけでなく、生産性の向上にも直接的につながるため、非常に重要な取り組みなんです。」

記者「その他、牛たちが快適に過ごせるようにするために心がけていることはありますか？」

田中さん「牛たちが快適に過ごせるようにするためには、日々の細かな気配りが必要です。例えば、気候や天気の変化に応じて、牛舎内の環境を調整します。寒い日は防寒対策を強化し、暑い日は風通しを良くして熱中症を防ぎます。また、牛床の清潔さを常に保つことで、乳房炎などの病気の予防にも努めています。これらの取り組み全てが、牛たちがストレスなく健康的に過ごすための基盤となっています。」

Tanaka: “As a unique initiative, we play music for the cows. By playing music like background music, we try to help the cows relax. Cows are very sensitive creatures and can easily feel the sounds of their surroundings. They react quickly to changes in the environment. For example, when there is thunder or construction noise, the cows immediately sense it and are easily stressed. That's why we try to reduce such external stress by playing calming music.


Reporter: "How do you deal with the stress felt by the cows?"

Tanaka: "To minimize the stress felt by the cows, it is important to create an environment where they can relax on a daily basis. Music is very effective as part of this, helping the cows stay calm, especially when there is thunder or loud noises nearby. Playing music also helps keep the cows in a comfortable state. We aim to minimize the effects of stress by providing an environment where the cows can be comfortable."

Reporter: "What specific measures are you taking to keep them comfortable?"

Tanaka: "To ensure comfort, we place importance on good ventilation in the cowshed and dry cow beds. Good ventilation is effective as a countermeasure against the heat in summer, and dry cow beds allow the cows to rest in a clean environment without getting sticky. These measures are intended to ensure that the cows are stress-free and healthy. Providing a comfortable environment is very important because it directly leads to improved productivity as well as the health of the cows. ”

Reporter: “Anything else you do to make the cows comfortable?”

Tanaka: “To make the cows comfortable, we need to pay close attention to the details every day. For example, we adjust the environment in the barn according to changes in the climate and weather. On cold days, we take extra precautions against the cold, and on hot days, we improve ventilation to prevent heatstroke. We also try to prevent diseases such as mastitis by always keeping the cowbed clean. All of these efforts are the foundation for the cows to live stress-free and healthy.”

誠心誠意に全力投球

記者「座右の銘はありますか？」

田中さん「私が日々心に留めているのは、「誠心誠意」です。この言葉は、どんな時も誠実さをもって全力を尽くすことの大切さを示しています。現代の社会では、経済状況が不安定で何が起こるか予測が難しい時代です。そんな中で生きていくためには、仕事はもちろんのこと、人との関わりにおいても、誠実さと真摯な姿勢が非常に重要になってきます。この精神を持って日々を送ることで、どんな困難も乗り越えられると信じています。」
