昇成龍の経営哲学

記者「豊永さんが経営において最も大事にしていることやこだわりについて教えてください。」

豊永さん「当然ですが、私たちの経営の柱は、売上の増加と無駄の削減です。特に、不必要なコストを抑えることに力を入れています。例えば、獣医に頼む治療費など、以前は無駄だと考えていました。自分でできることは自分で行うことで、コスト削減につながっています。」


記者「規模の拡大に伴い、経営方針に変化はありましたか？」

豊永さん「確かに、規模が大きくなると経営の方針も変わります。最初は私と妻の二人で、90頭の牛を育てるのが限界でしたが、従業員を雇うことで頭数を増やせるようになりました。増やす基準としては”今年度はいくら売り上げたので来年度は例えば2000万売り上げましょう、3000万売り上げましょうという売り上げの目標を立てて、それに見合った頭数を導入する”という形で売上を軸に計画を立てていきました。」


記者「従業員との関係や労働環境についてはどのように考えていますか？」

豊永さん「従業員は非常に大切です。彼らが牛の管理方法をしっかり学ぶことで、大きなトラブルは防げます。また、労働環境にも気を配っています。例えば、夏場は熱中症対策として、1時間に10分の休憩を取るようにしています。昼食は会社から提供し、コミュニケーションも大切にしています。」

記者「経営者として、全体を俯瞰する視点と従業員への信頼についてどう思われますか？」

豊永さん「経営者としては、全体を大まかに見ることが重要です。一方で、従業員一人ひとりの仕事を詳細に見るのではなく、彼らを信頼し、大事にすることが大切です。特に新人教育には力を入れており、段階的に責任を任せていきます。これにより、経営者としての視野を広げつつも、従業員一人ひとりの成長を促進しています。」

Reporter: "What do you think is most important in your business and what do you care about?"

Toyonaga: "Obviously, the main pillars of our business are increasing sales and reducing waste. We are particularly focused on cutting unnecessary costs. For example, we used to think that things like veterinary treatment costs were a waste. By doing what we can ourselves, we have been able to reduce costs."


Reporter: "Has your business policy changed as you've expanded?"

Toyonaga: "Indeed, as you expand, your business policy also changes. At first, my wife and I were limited to raising 90 cows. However, by hiring employees, we were able to increase the number of cattle. The standard for increasing the number of cattle was to set a sales goal of, for example, 20 million or 30 million yen for next year based on the amount of sales we made this year, and then we hired an appropriate number of cattle. We made plans based on sales.


Reporter: "What do you think about the relationship with employees and the working environment?"

Toyonaga: "Employees are very important. If they learn how to properly manage cattle, we can prevent major problems. We also pay attention to the working environment. For example, in the summer, To prevent heatstroke, we require employees to take a 10-minute break every hour. Lunch is provided by the company, and communication is also important.


Reporter: "As a manager, what do you think about the overall perspective and trust in employees?"

Toyonaga: "As a manager, it is important to see the big picture. At the same time, it is important to trust and value employees, rather than looking at the work of each employee in detail. We are particularly focused on training new employees, and gradually delegate responsibilities to them. This allows me to broaden my perspective as a manager while also promoting the growth of each employee. "

自給自足の精神

記者「豊永さんは資金面でのやりくりにどのようなテクニックを用いていますか？」

豊永さん「私たちの基本方針は、必要のないところにはお金をかけないことです。例えば、建物に関しては、屋根さえあれば十分。私自身が建屋の建設や電気水道の設置を手掛けています。これにより、トラブルがあった際にも、原因を素早く特定し、迅速に対応できます。また、子牛の販売収入を資材購入に充てることで、建物関係の借入はありません。自分でできることは、できる限り自分で行い、それ以外は専門家に頼むスタイルをとっています。」

記者「情報収集や活用に関してはどのように行っていますか？」

豊永さん「情報収集は、今のネット社会を活かしています。例えば、建設作業の方法はYouTubeなどで学んでいます。また、北海道の同級生と連絡を取り合って、畜産業界の現状や情勢を把握しています。これにより、牛の購入タイミングや飼料の価格変動を理解し活用しています。要は、情報を仕入れて、それを実務に役立てることが大切ですね。」


記者「経営におけるコスト管理や効率化のための具体的な取り組みはありますか？」

豊永さん「はい、例えば、餌の購入に関しては、価格変動を考慮し、最も経済的なタイミングで購入します。牛の仕入れも同様で、季節によって価格が異なるため、最もコストが下がる時期を狙って購入しています。一年を通して見ると、これらの取り組みにより、平均的にかなりのコスト削減が可能になっています。常に市場の動きを注視し、適切なタイミングでの購入を心掛けています。」

Reporter: "What techniques do you use to manage your finances, Mr. Toyonaga?"

Toyonaga: "Our basic policy is not to spend money on things that are not necessary. For example, when it comes to buildings, a roof is enough. I myself am in charge of building the buildings and installing the electricity and water. This allows us to quickly identify the cause and respond quickly when there is a problem. Also, we don't have any loans for buildings because we use the income from selling calves to purchase materials. We do as much as we can ourselves and ask experts for the rest. ”

Reporter: “How do you gather and use information?”

Toyonaga: “I take advantage of today’s internet society to gather information. For example, I learn how to do construction work from YouTube. I also keep in contact with my classmates in Hokkaido to keep up with the current situation and developments in the livestock industry. This helps me understand and use the timing of cattle purchases and fluctuations in feed prices. In short, it’s important to gather information and use it in your work.”


Reporter: “Are there any specific initiatives to manage costs and improve efficiency in your business?”

Toyonaga: “Yes, for example, the cost of feed. When it comes to purchasing, we take price fluctuations into consideration and buy at the most economical time. The same goes for purchasing cattle; prices vary by season, so we purchase at the lowest cost. Looking at the whole year, these efforts have allowed us to reduce costs considerably on average. We always keep a close eye on market movements and try to purchase at the right time. ”

目標を追い越せ！

記者「豊永さんにとって師匠としている人物はいますか？」

豊永さん「師匠というよりは、目標としている人物がいますね。それは高塚牧場の中村さんや大坪上原牧場の上原さんなど、身近な成功している農家の方々です。彼らは私が小さな規模の時から注目してくれていました。彼らの経験談やアドバイスは、私にとって非常に大きな助けとなっています。特に、困難な時期を乗り越えた彼らの話は、私自身にも深く共感でき、大きな刺激になっています。」


記者「豊永さんが彼らから学んだことで、特に印象に残っているアドバイスはありますか？」

豊永さん「はい、彼らも厳しい時期を経験しているので、その話を聞くことができたのは本当に大きかったです。自分と似た境遇を持つ人からのアドバイスは、とても心に響きます。彼らの話を聞いて、”きつい時でも諦めずに続けること”の重要性を学びました。また、彼らの経験を通じて、自分がどう進むべきかの方向性を見つけることができました。」


記者「今後の豊永さんの農場の展望について教えてください。」

豊永さん「将来的には、私が目標としている人々を追い越すことが最大の目標です。現在は150頭の乳牛を育てていますが、2～3年後には200頭を超える規模を目指しています。また、牛だけでなく、土地や資産も増やしていきたいと考えています。大きな牛舎で管理しやすい数の牛を飼うことが理想です。そして、それぞれの小屋を従業員に任せる体制を作り上げ、より効率的な運営を目指します。」

Toyonaga: “More than a mentor, there are people I look up to. They are Nakamura-san from Takatsuka Farm and Uehara-san from Otsubo Uehara Farm. They are successful farmers close to me. They have been paying attention to me since I was a small farmer. Their experiences and advice have been a great help to me. In particular, their stories of overcoming difficult times have deeply resonated with me and have been a great inspiration to me. ”


Reporter: “Is there any advice that you learned from them that has particularly impressed you?”

Toyonaga: “Yes, they have also been through difficult times, so it was really meaningful for me to be able to hear their stories. Advice from people in similar circumstances to me really resonates with me. By listening to their stories, I learned the importance of “not giving up even when it is tough.” Also, through their experiences, I was able to find the direction I should go in.”

Reporter: “Please tell us about the future prospects for Toyonaga’s farm.”

Toyonaga: “In the future, my biggest goal is to surpass the people I aspire to be. Currently, I raise 150 dairy cows, but in 2-3 years I aim to have more than 200. I also want to increase not only the cows, but also the land and assets. Ideally, I would like to have a large barn with a number of cows that is easy to manage. We will also create a system where each shed will be in charge of its own staff, aiming for more efficient operation."
